Field Business Development Representative
Meadow Memorials and Cremations
About Meadow
Meadow is transforming end-of-life care, one of the largest and most overlooked industries in America. In under two years, we became the largest independent funeral home in California and have since expanded to multiple states, with more markets on the way. We’ve earned an 80+ NPS, glowing reviews, and the trust of hundreds of families every month.
Backed by top-tier investors and led by a founding team with prior exits from companies like Stripe, Google, and Opendoor, we’re applying modern technology and real hospitality to an industry unchanged for 70+ years.
About the Role
As a Field Business Development Representative, you’ll be the face of Meadow in Texas, launching and scaling a new market from the ground up. You’ll be our first Field BDR in the state, bringing a proven playbook from California while adapting and improving it as we grow.
This is a true startup role: high ownership, high autonomy, and direct impact on our national expansion.
You’ll focus on building strong partnerships with hospices and care providers across DFW or Houston. Because many families turn to these providers for guidance, the relationships you build will directly shape how families experience Meadow.
This is not about hard selling — it’s about earning trust, building long-term partnerships, and modernizing an outdated industry. You’ll own your territory end-to-end, growing a referral network that compounds over time.
This role is highly field-based, requiring regular in-person visits across your market. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
What You’ll Do
- Own your territory - prospect, visit, and build lasting relationships with care providers across DFW or Houston to drive referral growth.
- Run in-service presentations and train care provider staff so they can confidently refer families to Meadow.
- Stay connected with existing partners, close the loop on referrals, and keep relationships warm and productive over time.
- Support referred families with empathy and clarity during one of life's hardest moments.
- Personally deliver cremated remains to families (~20% of role) - a meaningful, human touchpoint that sets Meadow apart.
- Keep partner data and performance metrics sharp in HubSpot, and continuously improve your approach based on results.
Who You Are
- 3–5 years of experience in a relationship-driven field: real estate, insurance, healthcare, or similar.
- Relationship-driven - you thrive on networking, building trust, and influencing decision-makers over time.
- Excellent communicator - comfortable presenting to groups, running in-service trainings, and engaging diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated and accountable - you take full ownership of your territory and don't need to be micromanaged.
- Adaptable problem-solver - resourceful, curious, and energized by ambiguity rather than slowed by it.
Bonus Points
- You speak Spanish. Many of the families we serve are Spanish-speaking.
- You’ve worked in a startup or tech environment and are comfortable in a fast-moving, tool-driven workflow.
