Role Summary

The Utilities Maintenance team consists of a manager,  group leaders and technicians. The primary responsibilities of the Utilities Maintenance Technicians is to perform skilled maintenance  inspections, troubleshooting, and repair. A well-qualified technician will have the ability to read/interpret blue prints, knowledgeable in their craft, have good safe working practices in a manufacturing facility ( or place of similar magnitude), ability to work with limited instruction. Technician should have a customer focused mentality, the ability to effectively communicate in a team environment and comply with all Rivian policies. We are hiring for all levels of Maintenance Technicians. General requirements for the positions follow, but not all inclusive of all levels to technician. The opening is located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to a Utilities Group Leader. 


Responsibilities

  • Proficient at brazing/soldering plumbing and refrigerant pipes/lines
  • Maintenance of AHU’s, direct gas fired AHU’s, condensing boilers, pumps, exhaust fans, package roof top units and motors of varying sizes.
  • Navigate and manipulate a Building Automation System (BAS)/Building Management System (BMS)
  • Work with hazardous voltages up to and including 480 volts.
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance activities
  • Conduct commercial garage door maintenance (General Maintenance Tech.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with commercial or industrial HVAC
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience working with/around high voltage electrical up to 480v
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5+ years of related experience in general industry
  • HVAC, Electrical Distribution, or Plumbing experience
  • 1 year of experience working in facilities maintenance capacity
  • Basic working knowledge of PLCs and related systems (preferred)
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
  • Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather.
