Role Summary
Rivian is looking for a Senior Factory Software & Diagnostics Engineer that will help build a vertically integrated company alongside a vertically integrated software solution. This team makes for every phase of the business, from the in-vehicle firmware to the cloud, embedded, and mobile applications to our B2B Fleet OS platform. Our team is responsible for Smart Diagnostics, Rivian’s Diagnostic Engine that drives in-vehicle and remote diagnostics via manual, no-code, and ML-driven root cause analysis. We are developing the most advanced integrated diagnostic system in the world, capable of proactively monitoring, analyzing, and learning from our fleets throughout their lifecycle. The opening will be located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the Manager Firmware Integration.
Responsibilities

- Build, test, and release complex mission-critical full-stack products for internally and externally facing software. \n
- Gain a unique look into how EVs work inside-out and strengthen your EV domain knowledge. \n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for development and integrations. \n

Qualifications
- \n
- BA in Engineering. (Computer Science / Data Engineering / Data Science or relevant degree/experience) \n
- Proficiency in Python, Node.js or Golang. \n
- Proficiency in developing API Frameworks. (GraphQL preferred, RESTful API pattern) \n
- Proficiency in developing frontend components and single-page applications using technologies like typescript, and React (or similar) with a keen eye for design. \n
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructures. (AWS preferred) \n
- Familiarity working with AWS Lambdas, Docker and Kubernetes or other serverless and container-based architectures. \n
- Experience with Amazon EKS. \n
- Solid understanding of databases. (Postgres, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.) \n
- Great sense of caching, security, and privacy considerations. \n
- Unit testing and test-driven development experience. \n
- Systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience. \n
- Knowledge of Agile Development of Accessible Software Tools. \n
- Strong understanding of OOPs. \n
