Role Summary
The Facilities Design team is Rivian’s in-house design team focused on the physical typologies of the brand; from workplace, manufacturing line design, R&D to full-scale production, and everything in between. Our ideal candidate is a collaborative, creative thinker, with a solid understanding of facility and production manufacturing infrastructure needs. This is a dynamic position focused on building narratives cross-functional collaboration and translating the Rivian brand production needs into spaces that are functional, efficiency, executed in such a way that is representative of our compass values.
Responsibilities

- Participate in project intake processes, including project scoping and estimate building \n
- Develop and communicate design ideas through collaboration with in-house engineering and construction teams \n
- Coordinate and collaborate with consultants (architects, engineers, vendors, and fabricators). \n
- Provide guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges \n
- Promote creative design solutions to drive cost savings and highlight VE opportunities \n
- Manage expectations of multiple internal stakeholders and partners \n
- Manage and mentor team to meet project scope, budget, and timeline requirements \n
- Connect team objectives to broader company priorities and objectives \n
- Maintain a holistic involvement in all projects to develop efficiencies on adjacent projects \n
- Review and respond to drawings, shop drawings, and submittals \n
- File and track project information and documentation \n
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Building Infrastructure Design, Operations, Quality, EHS, FFE, and participate in budget, schedule, and installation conversations \n
- Develop with our in-house Standards and Prototype updates/ initiatives \n
- Participate in project site visits and surveys \n
- Staying abreast of developing trends in the architecture and design community – including sourcing new vendors for procurement and collaboration of custom pieces \n
- Contribute to the office and team culture and initiatives \n
Qualifications
- \n
- 8+ years of architectural, engineering, and or interior design experience \n
- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field \n
- Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across multiple functions and at all levels, both within and outside of the organization. \n
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Autodesk Revit and Autocad, Slack, Figma, and Bluebeam Revu \n
- Ability to read and navigate through construction documents \n
- Has an analytical, creative, innovative, and problem-solving mindset with an attention to detail \n
- Able to coordinate multiple projects at the same time, with the ability to shift focus very quickly and adjust to rapidly changing priorities. \n
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, analytic, and critical thinking skills. \n
- Experience managing small and large-scale programs and projects. \n
- Previous experience executing on large scale construction projects with a technical knowledge in manufacturing is an asset \n
- Self-starter who is goal-oriented, highly motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and process improvements. \n
