Role Summary
This Sr. Manager, TPM – Infotainment, Connectivity and Autonomy HW role spans component development through to functional sub-system validation. You will be managing a highly capable TPM team who are integral for delivery infotainment, connectivity and autonomous hardware for Rivian vehicles. The team’s scope covers custom designed compute modules, antennas, audio, sensors, displays, antennas, and certification.
Your team will establish timing and manage these module programs with high levels of initiative, organization, technical competence and pragmatism. In addition to the module development, the manager will help to coordinate across the sub-systems product development teams, including hardware and software stakeholders, from architecture through validation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the development and integration of the relevant components & modules together with the cross-functional engineering teams.
- Coach and mentor strong TPMs to grow in their skillsets and career.
- Build strong partnerships with engineering and vehicle line leadership to support escalations and issue resolution
- Ensure module programs are well planned to meet the needs of Rivian vehicle programs, and able to adjust plans as new information becomes available.
- Monitor execution of module programs, assisting teams when needed, and communicating status to stakeholders regularly.
- Identify and address programmatic risks and work to mitigate and reduce exposure, championing and raising issues and removing roadblocks to hit timing.
- Drive pragmatic process and systems improvements to enable the team to operate more efficiently.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading technical programs
- 5+ years of managing a team of program managers or equivalent
- BS in Engineering or similar technical degree required
- Experience mentoring and directly managing technical program managers, and establishing and driving process improvements across an organization
- Detailed knowledge of electrical hardware design, development, validation, and integration process, including experience with software integration
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing to core technology roadmaps (sensors, displays, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams to quickly solve complex issues
- Proven experience delivering complex projects in short timelines
- Excellent written and verbal skills; able to communicate with all parts of the organization
- High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
- Travel as needed to support development
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $213,000.00 - $266,300.00 (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
