Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting (EPB) Support Analyst with solid technical skills and a firm understanding of finance, budgeting and forecasting principles to support our Business Finance. This role will support the day-to-day maintenance and support of the existing EPB application. Additionally, this role will require to work cross functionally with the Finance Org and IT to successfully deploy solutions to improve planning and forecasting processes. This position will be located in Palo Alto, CA and report to the EMP Staff Financial Analyst.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support existing EPBCS applications throughout month-end and forecast cycles, including responding to user-reported issues, providing technical support, troubleshooting application errors, and monitoring system health to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Gather and analyze business requirements for new features or enhancements to EPBCS applications, design and develop functionalities, and implement modifications while configuring and customizing EPBCS to meet evolving business needs with a focus on best practices and system integrity.
- Manage data loads, integrations, and ensure data quality for planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, collaborating cross-functionally with ERP and HR systems to resolve integration-related issues.
- Monitor and optimize EPBCS application performance by tuning calculations, business rules, and data loads, conducting regular performance reviews, and implementing necessary improvements.
- Document EPBCS system configurations, processes, and procedures, provide end-user training and guidance on effective use of functionalities, and create user manuals and training materials for new features.
- Ensure data confidentiality and compliance by managing security roles, permissions, and controls within EPBCS, and protect against unauthorized access to sensitive information.
- Coordinate change requests and release cycles for EPBCS applications, conduct impact assessments for smooth deployment into production environments, and communicate updates effectively to stakeholders and end-users.
- Collaborate with Oracle support teams or third-party vendors for issue resolution and escalation, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within EPBCS.
- Stay updated with Oracle Cloud updates, best practices, and industry trends to recommend and implement enhancements as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle EPM suite, including Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting.
- 5+ years of EPB Cloud experience with Financials (Expenses, Revenue, Capex, Workforce, Project) modules.
- Proficiency in data integration tools and techniques (e.g., FDMEE, Data Management, Data Exchange, Pipeline).
- Proficiency in Calculation Manager/ Business Rule/ Calculation scripts, Groovy Scripts, Web forms, integrations, Data Management, Performance Optimization, EPM security, Hybrid applications, Data Maps.
- Strong proficiency of Oracle Hyperion Essbase concepts (ASO, BSO, Calculation Scripts, Load Rules)
- Experience with data integration from other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP SAP, Workday, Databricks), validating and reconciling data to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Experience and proficiency in the creation of reports in Oracle Smart View, Financial reporting, and Narrative reporting.
- Support stakeholders during month end close activities and forecast/Budget cycles.
- Proficient in using ticketing systems to log and monitor support tickets, escalate complex issues as necessary, and maintain clear communication with users regarding the status of their requests.
- Demonstrated capability to identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements, actively participate in testing and validation of new features, and stay current with the latest Oracle EPM best practices and monthly updates.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, scripting languages, and other relevant technologies for automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
