Role Summary

Rivian is looking for a dynamic and self-starting Workplace Operations Specialist to lead workplace operations and facilities services at Rivian’s engineering facilities in Orange County, CA. This individual will be responsible for managing and executing the on-site operations, oversee multiple projects, and will also be the primary liaison between facilities and all department stakeholders at the site. This individual needs to wear multiple hats.


Responsibilities

  • LEAD: Responsible for leading and executing all site operations with enthusiasm.
  • SPACE MANAGEMENT: Collaborate with the engineering organizations and other site stakeholders to gather future space needs and evaluate current space usage to inform the site master plan. Manage onsite seating assignments for teams assigned to locations. Consolidate site space needs and collaborate with end users, real estate, design, construction, and other support teams to execute against the master plan. This includes maintaining office and site blocking plans and headcount forecasting.
  • SERVICES: Manage the on-site operations for culinary, janitorial, security, logistics, exteriors and groundskeeping, events, other workplace services, and vendor management.
  • PARTNER: Effectively partner with various departments to create a great workplace; the primary partners are Test and Development, People and Process, EHS, IT, Sustainability, Security, Logistics.
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Lead workplace projects by defining scopes of work, creating a strategic plan, receive input from stakeholders, and execute.
  • BUDGET MANAGEMENT: Ensure that the Operations team's expenses stay within the defined budget thresholds.
  • ASSET MANAGEMENT: Track and manage Facilities and Workplace assets.
  • SITE COORDINATION: Ensure necessary documentation for all visitors is complete and in accordance with site access requirements. Participate in planning efforts and event execution for all events at the Irvine, CA facilities.
  • CONTINUE TO MAKE RIVIAN A GREAT PLACE TO WORK: Continuously evaluate the workspace Rivian provides to their employees and generate ideas on how to improve the spaces, services, processes, and programs to consistently align with company priorities and employee needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects
  • 2-3 years of experience in facilities management and workplace services
  • 2-3 years of project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Slack and proficiency in a range of information technology tools and platforms
  • A customer service oriented personality who brings positive energy and happiness to the workplace!
  • Fantastic communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • An open mind to change practices that are not accomplishing the desired results
  • The desire to keep the work adventurous forever!

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Irvine, CA based applicants: $98,000 - $123,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
