Job Description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

This S&OP Program Manager is a senior, strategic leader responsible for the end-to-end transformation of Rivian's Sales & Operations Planning capabilities. Functioning as an internal Center of Excellence (COE), this individual will architect the future-state business processes with current S&OP leads and lead the organization through the changes required to achieve a world-class S&OP function as Rivian scales globally for all business units.

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate has proven experience leading both business process re-engineering and the implementation of the Advanced Planning Systems (APS) that enable them.
  • End-to-End Process Architect: You will lead the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of S&OP processes across all of Rivian's dynamic business channels with corresponding S&OP leads—including vehicles, charging, service, and adventure products. The primary focus is creating a single, cohesive operating model that defines how the company strategically balances demand and supply while optimizing financial outlook. The ongoing implementation of Kinaxis, PTC, and other planning tools will serve as the technological backbone for our business processes.
  • Technology Enablement & Adoption: While this is a business-led role, you will act as the primary business-side partner to our Product and Technology teams. This includes defining the business requirements and business process that Rivian systems must support, helping guide system implementation phasing, and, most critically, driving user adoption of the system and the redesigned processes it supports.
  • Holistic Operating Model Development: Your expertise must extend beyond process maps and technology. You are responsible for developing a comprehensive S&OP operating model with Rivian’s global S&OP team leads, which includes shaping the strategy for process, data, technology, delivery, and organizational design recommendations to most efficiently scale. This ensures that the people and supporting structures are aligned to make the transformation successful and sustainable.
  • Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership: You will be a central figure driving alignment and building consensus on S&OP transformation, from the functional leads in the trenches up through Rivian's top leadership. This requires exceptional communication skills to articulate the vision, report on progress, and ensure the consistent, global adoption of the new S&OP framework.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in S&OP, Supply Chain, or a related field, with a relevant Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading both end-to-end business process re-engineering and training and the business-side implementation of an Advanced Planning System (APS) like Kinaxis, o9, or Blue Yonder.
  • Expertise in developing holistic operating models (process, data, technology, org design) and managing complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to align stakeholders from functional teams to senior executive leadership.
