Role Summary
In this position you will be responsible for building and fostering standard training programs and tools to develop the skill sets required to be successful in Rivian’s Parts Distribution Centers. You will partner with the management teams at each site to identify skills development opportunities and drive consistent process standards. This role requires effective communication skills, a focus on standardization, and a desire to enhance others skill sets through training and coaching programs. The Sr. Continuous Improvement Partner will be expected to work onsite five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Work with Sr. Warehouse Managers and Supervisors to support the development and growth of team members by helping define critical skills for each role and structuring clear career paths for non-exempt roles both within and outside the department
- Utilize industry knowledge to build and maintain standardized onboarding programs and training requirements for all operations team members
- Capable of working with Team Guru (or similar tool) to maintain a central database of documentation of team members training and proficiency relating to process, equipment, etc.
- Develop job aids and network communications such as packaging standards, pick ready standards, return review criteria, safety highlights, common quality issues, etc.
- Develop and maintain common visuals that every PDC should use and ensure that each site is adhering to the standards set
- Manage SAP master data standards for future projects and facility launches
- Coordinate with business partners to ensure all compliance trainings required are prepared for warehouse operations team
- Develop and maintain Value Stream Mapping for overarching business processes. Possess the ability to work with other business partners and Zoom Out to create a VSM end-to-end (order entry to final product delivered)
- Ensure and drive best practices standardization across all departments and sites
- Maintain Standard Work Sheets to ensure adherence between all PDC sites and teams
- Actively partner across all global operations managers to ensure our standards and evaluations programs are providing the maximum value add to our teams
- Work with the Operations Excellence team for Semi-Annual (cadence still undetermined) Operations Playbook audits at all PDCs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or HS Diploma/GED plus 5+ years of influencing cross functionals teams and stakeholders to uphold operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity or working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma working principles
- Progressive career experience working within a Manufacturing, Distribution, or Warehouse setting demonstrating positive impact to KPIs
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of utilizing SAP EWM, JIRA, and Google Suite
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 8-10 hours per day
- Ability lift and carry at least 50 pounds
- Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain high noise levels, and hot or cold environments
- Required to effectively communicate using telephone, video conference, or digital tools (email and messaging applications)
- Required to travel 10-15%
