Job Description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

The Sr. Operations Specialist, Fleet Sales will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth and operational excellence of Rivian’s Commercial Fleet Sales organization. This position is responsible for leading, designing, and implementing programs and cross-functional initiatives that generate vehicle sales, customer experience, and operational efficiency. Acting as a linchpin between Fleet Sales, external partners, and internal stakeholders, you will drive alignment, execution, and continuous improvement “the Rivian way” - with vision, collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to quality. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Fleet Sales Operations and requires the ability to manage a dynamic portfolio of programs, identify scalable process solutions, drive strategic initiatives, and enable the execution of high-impact projects and events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end program management of Fleet Sales Operations initiatives, including the development and optimization of team processes, tools, and communication workflows to improve sales efficiency and customer experience.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Legal, Fulfillment, Digital, Service, technical teams, external partners) to develop and continuously improve the Fleet Sales strategy. Collect requirements, document processes, and ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Support the creation, management, and continuous improvement of assets, collateral, and content supporting vehicle education, sales enablement, and go-to-market positioning for Fleet Sales.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal and external reporting processes. Synthesize key data insights to inform leadership decisions and communicate results to stakeholders, proactively identifying risks and areas for enhancement.
  • Manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of strategic sales opportunities such as government procurement, RFPs, and bids, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and timely execution.
  • Track, manage, and advocate for digital/technical enhancements, acting as the primary liaison between Fleet Sales and technical teams to facilitate solution delivery and change management (e.g. Salesforce, Rivian.com, internal transaction and customer management systems).
  • Coordinate and execute special events, prospect demos, and activations (on-site and virtual), overseeing logistics, stakeholder communications, and post-execution reviews.
  • Continuously identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and process improvement, leading documentation and training that support scalable solutions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and regular communication streams to ensure ongoing alignment between Fleet Sales and related departments.
  • Support a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, championing best practices and the adoption of new tools and processes aligned with Rivian’s operational standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs/projects simultaneously, with detailed tracking, status, scheduling, prioritization, and stakeholders. Comprehensive attention to detail and accuracy is expected and required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Program Management, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in program management, operations, commercial sales, or a related customer-facing environment—preferably in the automotive or commercial fleet sector.
  • Direct experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing processes, program roadmaps, and communication workflows using tools such as Salesforce or other program management platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills; proven ability to interpret complex data and present actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving cross-functional initiatives to completion and influencing internal/external partners in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
  • Effective communicator with executive presence, able to deliver clear updates, presentations, and stakeholder management at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience coordinating and executing special projects and events (industry events, demos, activations) is a plus.
  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or program/project management certifications are a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable prioritizing in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed for program delivery and stakeholder engagement, including to support partner/public event executions (i.e. load in, setup, execution, load out).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., sitting, standing, walking, and frequent use of hands for grasping tools and data entry.
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics.
