Product Marketing Manager

This is a specialist product marketing role focused exclusively on Sokin’s payment acceptance products: Sokin Checkout (our hosted and API-integrated online checkout solution) and Payment Links (a no-code tool enabling merchants to collect payments via shareable links). You will be the internal expert on payment acceptance, ecommerce buyer journeys, and merchant needs, translating deep market understanding into positioning, messaging, enablement, and campaigns that drive adoption and revenue.

Key responsibilities
Go-to-market strategy and launch execution
Own the end-to-end GTM strategy for Sokin Checkout and Payment Links, from beta through general availability and ongoing growth.
Partner with Product, Sales and Finance on pricing, packaging, and commercial strategy for payment acceptance products.
Develop product positioning and messaging frameworks that clearly articulate value propositions to ecommerce merchants, marketplace operators, and platform businesses.
Plan and execute product launches including sales enablement materials, press and analyst briefings, customer communications, and campaign assets.
Define and manage launch KPIs including adoption rates, activation metrics, and pipeline contribution.
Market and competitive intelligence
Conduct ongoing competitive analysis across the payment acceptance landscape (Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, PayPal, Square, Mollie, etc.) and distill insights into actionable positioning guidance.
Track and interpret ecommerce and payments industry trends including open banking, alternative payment methods, buy-now-pay-later, and embedded finance.
Build and maintain a deep understanding of the merchant buying journey, from payment provider evaluation through integration, go-live, and expansion.
Develop and maintain buyer personas for target segments including DTC brands, ecommerce platforms, SaaS businesses, and marketplace operators.
Sales enablement and channel support
Create compelling sales collateral: pitch decks, one-pagers, battlecards, ROI calculators, case studies, and demo scripts tailored to payment acceptance conversations.
Partner with the BDE team to develop outbound sequences and talk tracks that resonate with ecommerce and payments buyers.
Support the embedded partnerships team with co-marketing frameworks and integration partner collateral.
Train internal teams on Checkout and Payment Links functionality, competitive differentiation, and ideal customer profiles.
Content and demand generation
Collaborate with the Content and Social team to produce thought leadership, blog posts, webinars, and video content focused on payment acceptance and ecommerce payments.
Work with Demand Generation to build targeted campaigns for merchant acquisition, including paid search, LinkedIn, and industry-specific channels.
Develop content strategies for key industry moments such as Black Friday/Cyber Monday, peak trading seasons, and major ecommerce events.
Brief and support event activations at relevant trade shows such as Ecommerce Expo, Money20/20, and Shoptalk.
Product feedback and cross-functional collaboration
Act as the voice of the market to the Product team, feeding back merchant needs, competitive gaps, and feature requests to inform the product roadmap.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to ensure marketing claims are accurate and compliant.
Work with Regional Marketing leads to localise payment acceptance messaging for different markets and regulatory environments.
Partner with the Brand team to ensure Checkout and Payment Links materials are consistent with Sokin’s brand identity.
What we’re looking for
Essential experience
4 to 7 years in product marketing, with at least 2 years focused on payments, payment acceptance, or ecommerce infrastructure.
Demonstrable understanding of the online payments ecosystem: acquirers, gateways, PSPs, checkout optimisation, payment orchestration, tokenisation, and settlement.
Proven track record of launching payment or fintech products to market, with measurable impact on adoption and revenue.
Experience creating sales enablement materials and working closely with commercial teams in a B2B SaaS or fintech environment.
Strong competitive analysis skills, with the ability to quickly parse a crowded market and identify differentiated positioning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex payments concepts into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable experience
Experience at a payment gateway, PSP, or checkout provider such as Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, Mollie, Worldpay, or similar.
Familiarity with API-first payment products and developer-focused go-to-market motions.
Experience marketing to ecommerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce) or marketplace operators.
Understanding of cross-border payment acceptance, multi-currency pricing, and local payment methods across international markets.
Experience working in a high-growth, Series A to C fintech environment where speed and adaptability are essential.
