Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director of Finance is a member of the senior leadership team responsible for managing and directing the company’s day-to-day financial operations, and developing the organization's financial management strategy. This position works closely with the executive leadership and Board of Directors to develop and implement financial strategies, and may be involved in fundraising and investor relations.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement the company’s financial management strategy and contribute to strategic goals
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters
  • Own and update/create financial models - master financial model and others as needed
  • Seek out prospective investors and strategize on investor outreach, including participating in investor meetings and maintaining a current and prospective investor spreadsheet
  • Collaborate with the CEO, current and prospective investors, and Board of Directors during financial activities, such as venture capital fundraising
  • Seek out and pursue non-dilutive means of financing the company
  • Create, implement, and lead the company’s budgeting/forecasting processes
  • Compile, evaluate, and analyze financial data
  • Prepare financial reports, summaries, and analyses that are accurate and timely
  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance team, and implement and maintain financial systems
  • Manage risk and investment strategies, and monitor all financial transactions
  • Create a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting structure
  • Manage relationships with various partners and vendors, such as with equipment leasing companies, banks, insurance companies, tax & accounting firms, etc.
  • Represent the company externally as needed.
  • Help execute 409a valuation process as needed.
  • Manage investor data room - keep up-to-date with latest historical and projected financials and other relevant documents, manage access
  • Manage other data rooms (e.g., for board financials, collaboration with specific investors/scale-up partners, banks, etc.)
  • Manage the company’s compliance with local and federal regulatory matters, ensuring the company adheres to tax laws and industry regulations
  • Identify inefficiencies in company systems and advise on overcoming them to use resources more efficiently and save the company money

Your qualifications and skills:

  • Business, Finance, or Accounting degree mandatory, a master’s in finance or business administration is preferred, plus a minimum of three to five years of experience in a leadership position.
  • External audit and in-house financial management experience.
  • Financial modeling mastery
  • Experience with startup venture capital fundraising preferred.
  • Strong skills in fiscal management and processes, financial benchmarking, and tax compliance and laws
  • The ability to work with a cross-functional team to achieve long term goals with day-to-day work.
  • A history of being an effective, detailed, communicative, and passionate person and proven in your ability to create and deliver quality work.
  • Extremely collaborative and able to communicate and provide feedback.
  • Competent in technical writing to document fiscal results and observations.
  • Adaptable and shows flexibility in approach to changing situations.
  • Excellent analytical teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Act responsibly with confidential matters.

Compensation Package

We offer medical and dental benefits, an employer-matched 401k program, and paid time off. In addition to stock options in the company, this position pays a salary range between $100,000 - $120,000.
