Overview

We are seeking a Corporate Controller who is responsible for overseeing accounting and all external financial reporting activities (monthly bank reporting, investor requests, financial audits, federal and state tax compliance, etc). This role involves managing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information, ensuring compliance with U.S generally accepted accounting principles, as well as building and maintaining internal controls over financial reporting. The Corporate Controller ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, playing a key role in driving the company's financial health and decision-making processes.

The Corporate Controller will oversee the Corporate Payroll function as well as lead the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team, consisting of our Assistant Controller, Tax Manager, and Technical Accounting Manager. Lastly, this individual will partner closely with the Operational Accounting team, including our external transactional accounting team based internationally as well as the Corporate Finance team.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Accounting, Alisa Leung, the Corporate Controller will serve as a strategic partner and will be relied upon to build and lead a top-tier accounting organization that can continue to scale with the growth of the business. Specific responsibilities include:

• Lead, manage, and scale the company’s core accounting functions, including technical accounting, financial reporting, finance operations, tax, and treasury.

• Drive processes to optimize and automate accounting to provide efficient monthly/quarterly close cycles while improving accuracy.

• Set the standards as a leader and coach to increase levels of employee job satisfaction and employee engagement through the development and mentoring of the team.

• Establish and maintain accounting policies, leading practices and procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance at scale

• Determine accounting implications and an analysis of company exposure for all material business decisions, including pricing and sales tax.

• Drive cross-functional alignment around the implementation and importance of internal controls.

• Enhance financial reporting and drive better business partnerships across company functions.

• Oversee audit processes by external independent auditors and tax auditors.

• Manage third-parties, such as 409a valuation experts, tax consultants, equity specialists, insurance brokers, and bankers

Who You Are

• 15+ years combined accounting experience, preferably as a Corporate Controller within a high-growth and transformational environment.

• Experience with consumer technology, manufacturing, or consumer product businesses is strongly preferred. Experience with SaaS / subscription models is preferred.

• Track record in managing and improving end-to-end financial processes with a well-rounded skill set across finance, controllership, tax, and treasury.

• Ability to develop and implement financial systems, tools, and control processes to increase efficiency.

• Ability to partner with executives and product leaders to understand and provide guidance on complex accounting issues that will impact product roadmap and go-to-market strategies.

• Extensive experience working directly with external auditors and building a practical and efficient system of internal controls.

• Hands-on, energized leader with the ability to attract and retain a highly motivated and talented finance team in a lean and efficient manner.
